How much is your Tax Preparation?

How much are your Bookkeeping fees?
Our Accounting fees are determined by the number of transactions that we would have to post to our accounting software program each month. Each business is different; a retail store may have over 1000 transactions and then a multi-level marketing business may have only 75 transaction per month. How do you collect my bookkeeping documentation every month?
If your business resides within 5 miles of our office, we will visit your office and pick them up. If you live further than that, we would ask that you mail them to us; we will mail them back to you and pay the postage both ways.
How much does it cost to set up a business?
The fees vary with each type of entity. A corporation may have several shareholders and thus, the labor is more intensive; however, many of our businesses are Sole Proprietor Limited Liability Companies and the information needed to set up with the Secretary of State is limited and thus, it would cost less. What is your Tax Consultation fee?
Our tax consultation fee is $75.00 and hour with no minimum; however; should you utilize our tax preparation services, your money is credited towards the total fee.
Do you travel to your clients?
Yes, we do, if they are within 15 miles of our office. As a matter of fact, our first consultation with a new tax client is preferred to be in his office or home; this usually ensures that he will have all the necessary tax information at hand.
I don't understand Financial Statements very well; would you explain them to me?
Usually, upon requrest, we will get together and explain your Financial Statements to you; a good time for that would be in October, you 3rd quarter. At that time, we would go over all your expenses and advise you where you may want make adjustments in your accounting to save on taxes for the current year, as well as the upcoming year. If you are our bookkeeping client, this service is included with your annual fee.
I live outside Georgia; can I just give you all my tax information via your website email and you can mail me my completed tax return?
Yes, however, we would review the client's documents and require payment in advance.
I just moved to Georgia from Michigan; can you still prepare my Michigan State income taxes?
Yes, we can prepare every state tax return in the continental United States.
I just received a letter from the IRS stating I owe them money; do you assist me with that?
Yes, this scenerio is very common and we (and the IRS) would require you sign a simple Power Of Attorney for us to communicate with the IRS and find out exactly what the assessment is about. We would then take action to bring the issue to a close in a timely manner. Much of the time, the government agencies make mistakes and these matters are resolved quickly with just a letter. Other times, there may be no recourse and we would advise the client to pay the assessment. Again, see our Tax Fee Schedule for our fees.
Exactly what do you say at your seminars?
The majority of our seminars are for business owners. Much of the information is regarding the various deductions business owners can take. Many business people have no clue just what they can expense and it is our passion to educate them. We also put to rest some of the rumors that are out there that scare people from legally deducting expenses they are entitled to. I.e. Home Office deduction.
In addtion, we educate them on the choices they have regarding some of the expenses that can be deducted. I.e. Mileage and Depreciation.
There is no obligation or cost to these seminars; we do them as a public service. Please see our website for our scheduled events. If we are not in your area and you have at least 5 business owners that would attend, we would be happy to bring a seminar to your area for you.
Exactly what do you do with your QuickBooks training?
We would visit your office and the first thing we would do is to set up your Chart of Accounts; this is the most important aspect of an accounting system and the majority of business owners do not know how to do this property. The initial session is 3 hours and we would take the time to get to know your business, your goals and your expenses; each industy is different. We ask a lot of questions, so that when we leave, you are pretty much informed as to how to post the transactions and what financial statements are. If you need further instruction, we also provide that with no minimum but most businesses can function very well with 3 hours if they are business savvy.
Prior to our visit, we would expect you to at least purchase QuickBooks Pro, which is sufficient enough for most business applications.
NOTE: It is strongly recommended that we not be disturbed by children, pets, customers, etc. during our sessions.
I am a Pastor of a church; what can your business do for us?
We are a full-service accounting practice meaning that we can handle everything your church requires with regards to accounting. The first thing we would do is to visit your church and sit down with the person who would be our main contact. We would also sit down with the church Treasurer, if applicable. Once we understand your system and financial goals, we would be collecting and posting your donor's weekly contributions and your expenses. In addition, we could provide you with Sales Tax remittance, should you sell retail itema, as well as service you with Payroll. Many times, a church will require a quarterly, semi-annual or annual contribution letter to go out to the members of their congregation and we can provide this service as well. We find the most important aspect here is communication and we pride ourselves in that obligation; our office is always open to questions that you may have. Lastly, upon request, we will prepare your financial statements throughout the year, should a bank or your board need them; an annual statement is automatically provided. Don't hesitate to request a testimonial letter.
Do you perform Audits?
No, we are not certified for that and have no future plans to become certified.
